Wellness and Retreat News: July 2026

Published July 11, 2026

A short roundup of dated wellness and retreat news from the past two weeks. This month brings a major resort debut on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast and a grand reopening in the Dallas suburbs. Both point to where the wider retreat market is heading: longevity science at the luxury end, and Korean-style bathing culture in the mainstream. Always confirm dates, rates and what is included directly with each property before you plan a trip.

Six Senses AMAALA opens on the Red Sea with a longevity centre

Red Sea Global confirmed on July 8 that Six Senses AMAALA will welcome its first guests from July 15, 2026, its second Six Senses property in Saudi Arabia after Southern Dunes. The beachfront resort has 100 suites and villas plus 25 branded residences at the wellness-focused AMAALA destination in Triple Bay.

Wellness is the centrepiece here rather than an add-on. The Six Senses Spa includes a dedicated Longevity Centre, a Biohacking Recovery Lounge, a Watsu pool, a sound dome and thermal facilities, alongside tailored programmes that mix diagnostics and holistic treatments. It is a clear marker of how far the longevity trend has moved into flagship resort openings. Details are reported by Sleeper.

Spa Castle Texas holds its grand reopening in Carrollton

Spa Castle Texas held its grand opening on July 4, 2026, at 1020 Raiford Road in Carrollton, following an extensive renovation of its hydrotherapy, sauna and spa areas. The Korean-style bathhouse leaned into its wellness positioning with new features including a Himalayan Salt Sauna built from salt blocks sourced in Pakistan and a River Rock Foot Bath with a natural stone acupressure path.

Beyond the bathing floors, the venue is running regular yoga, pilates, meditation and sound healing sessions through local practitioner partnerships, plus Korean beauty services. A later phase is set to expand the on-site boutique hotel and an 8,000-square-foot event space aimed at weddings and corporate retreats. The reopening was covered by CW33 Dallas.
