The Best Wellness Retreats in Wyoming, From Teton Spa Suites to Free Hot Springs
The best wellness retreats in Wyoming split into two kinds: mountain spa resorts in Jackson Hole, where a massage follows a day of hiking or skiing below the Tetons, and the state's mineral hot springs, where people have soaked for generations. We picked five that are open now, checked against each venue's own website in October 2026: Amangani and Hotel Terra in Jackson Hole, Saratoga Hot Springs Resort in the south, and two ways to soak in Thermopolis, including a state-run bath house that costs nothing.
Most complete spa: Amangani, above Jackson, with a movement studio, steam rooms and a 35-metre heated outdoor pool.
For skiers: Hotel Terra in Teton Village, with a rooftop spa and outdoor infinity pool.
Hot springs stay: Saratoga Hot Springs Resort, with private teepee-covered pools at 100F to 112F.
Free: the State Bath House at Hot Springs State Park, Thermopolis, kept at about 104F.

1. Amangani, Jackson Hole
Amangani sits on East Gros Ventre Butte above the town of Jackson, built from wood and stone with views across the valley to the Grand Teton range. Its Wellness Centre is the most complete in the state: four redwood-panelled treatment rooms, two steam rooms, a relaxation lounge, a 24-hour gym, a movement studio for yoga, Pilates and meditation, and a glade on the butte top used for outdoor sessions. The heated 35-metre outdoor pool and hot tub look straight at the mountains. The resort suggests starting a wildlife-watching day with a private yoga or Pilates session and ending it with a deep-tissue massage or Himalayan salt scrub. It suits a short, high-end stay combined with Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
2. Hotel Terra, Teton Village
Hotel Terra is a slopeside hotel at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village, with recently remodelled rooms and suites, many with kitchens. Its wellness side is the Chill Spa, a boutique rooftop spa, plus a fitness centre, an Ammortal recovery chamber and an outdoor infinity pool with views over the village. It works best as a ski-and-spa base in winter, or as a summer base for hiking, with the spa as the recovery stop rather than the reason for the trip. The hotel's Il Villaggio Osteria serves Italian food on site.
3. Saratoga Hot Springs Resort, Saratoga
In the small town of Saratoga in southern Wyoming, this resort is built around natural mineral hot springs that Cheyenne, Ute and Arapaho people knew as the "place of magic waters". Guests soak in private teepee-covered hot pools of about 100F to 112F, taken first come, first served, and a 70-foot mineral swimming pool of about 96F to 98F. The water is heated entirely by the springs, so temperatures vary. The Healing Waters Spa offers massage, body and energy treatments, and every treatment includes day use of the hot pools and fitness centre, which is the way in if you are not staying. The pools are otherwise for guests and pass members only. The resort also has its own Snowy Mountain Brewery and a golf course, and breakfast is included for overnight guests.
4. State Bath House, Hot Springs State Park, Thermopolis
In Thermopolis, in central Wyoming, more than 1.8 million gallons of mineral water flow over coloured terraces into the Bighorn River every 24 hours, at a constant 128F at the source. Wyoming State Parks runs a free bath house where the water is kept at about 104F for therapeutic bathing, including an outdoor soaking pool. The park also has more than six miles of trails, a suspension footbridge over the river and summer flower gardens. Hours published by the park in August 2026 were Monday to Saturday 8am to 7pm and Sunday noon to 7pm. The outdoor soaking pool closed from 24 August 2026 for about a month of accessibility and safety work, so check that it has reopened before you travel.
5. Tepee Pool and Spa, Thermopolis
Inside the same state park, at 144 Tepee Street, Tepee Pool and Spa is a privately run pool complex fed by the hot springs, with an admission charge, lockers and a gift shop. It is livelier than the bath house and better for families who want a swim as well as a soak. Its website listed opening hours of 8am to 8pm when we checked. A night or two in Thermopolis, using both, makes a low-cost hot springs retreat that is easy to add to a Yellowstone road trip.
Planning a wellness trip in Wyoming
Distances are the main thing to plan around. Jackson Hole has its own airport inside Grand Teton National Park, a short drive from Jackson and Teton Village. Thermopolis and Saratoga are several hours' drive from Jackson and from each other, so they work as stops on a road trip rather than day trips. Winter is ski season in Teton Village and the most atmospheric time for an outdoor soak; summer and early autumn bring hiking and wildlife. Spring and late autumn are quieter, and some services run reduced hours.
