The Best Wellness Retreats in Nevada: Four Picks, From Lake Tahoe Spas to a Carson Valley Hot Spring
The best wellness retreats in Nevada are not where most people expect. Away from the Las Vegas Strip, the state's best places to slow down are on the Nevada shore of Lake Tahoe, where two resort spas look out over one of the clearest lakes in the country, and in the Carson Valley below the Sierra, where mineral hot springs have drawn visitors since the 1860s. Las Vegas earns one place for a spa day built around Roman baths and an ice room. Here are four, checked against their own listings and recent guides in October 2026.
Lakefront spa resort: Edgewood Tahoe, Stateline, with an 8,500-square-foot spa on a 235-acre lakefront estate.
North shore spa: Stillwater Spa at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, Incline Village; adults 18 and over.
Natural hot springs: David Walley's Resort, Genoa, with mineral tubs at about 98 to 104°F.
Las Vegas spa day: Qua Baths and Spa at Caesars Palace, with Roman baths and an Arctic Ice Room.

1. Edgewood Tahoe Resort, Stateline
Edgewood Tahoe sits at 180 Lake Parkway in Stateline, on the south shore just over the California line, on a 235-acre, LEED-certified lakefront estate with 154 rooms and suites, three restaurants and an 18-hole championship golf course along the water. Spa Edgewood takes up about 8,500 square feet on the second floor of the Lodge, with eight treatment rooms, separate steam rooms for men and women and a covered outdoor jacuzzi beside the relaxation area. The menu runs from deep-tissue massage to facials and hydrotherapy. Outside the spa, the outdoor pool, the lakeshore and the trails in the mountains behind the resort fill the rest of the day. It is the most complete spa stay in the state, priced accordingly; book treatments when you book the room, especially on summer weekends.
2. Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, Incline Village
On the quieter north shore, the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village houses Stillwater Spa on its lower lobby level. The spa is adults only: guests must be at least 18 to book services or use the facilities, which include a eucalyptus steam room, a dry cedar sauna and a relaxation lounge, plus a salon. Appointments are recommended, though walk-ins are taken when there is space, and a 20% service charge is added to treatments automatically. Hotel guests also have a 24-hour fitness center with Peloton bikes. The resort has been renovating its lakeside cottages and restaurant, which closed beach access for a time, so check what is open when you book. The East Shore Trail toward Sand Harbor, pictured above, is a short drive south.
3. David Walley's Resort, Genoa
An hour's drive down from the lake, on the edge of Genoa, Nevada's oldest settlement, David Walley's has been a hot springs resort since the 1860s and is marked with a Nevada state historical marker. It is now run as a Holiday Inn Club Vacations resort, and it is the place in this list for soaking rather than pampering:
- Hot spring tubs of mineral water at roughly 98 to 104°F, with one tub set aside for families with children under 18.
- A heated outdoor pool, plus a seasonal pool generally open from May to October, weather permitting.
- A spa with a steam room, dry saunas and seven treatment rooms; book treatments 24 to 48 hours ahead.
- Day passes covering the steam rooms, saunas, hot spring tubs and heated pools, with no reservation needed for day use.
Listings give opening hours of 7am to 10pm daily, but confirm before you drive out, as hours and day-pass prices change. The views across the Carson Valley to the Sierra are the bonus.
4. Qua Baths and Spa at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas
If a trip to Nevada means Las Vegas, Qua at Caesars Palace is the spa to book for a day off the casino floor. Its centerpiece is a circuit of Roman baths at different temperatures, along with a cedar sauna, a steam room, a laconium (a gentle dry-heat room) and the Arctic Ice Room, where snowflakes fall in cold, mint-scented air. The men's and women's areas are separate, each with its own quiet lounge. Day passes are sold, and facility access comes with booked treatments; prices and age rules have varied between sources, so check with the spa directly before you go. Arrive early in the day to get the most from a pass.
Planning a wellness trip in Nevada
- Altitude. Lake Tahoe sits at more than 6,000 feet. Drink plenty of water and take the first day easy, especially before long hikes or hot tubs and saunas.
- Seasons. Summer is busy and winter brings ski crowds and chain controls on mountain roads. Late spring and early fall are quieter.
- Getting there. Reno-Tahoe International Airport serves both Tahoe resorts and Genoa; Harry Reid International serves Las Vegas.
- Combine them. Genoa is close enough to the south shore to pair a hot springs day with a stay at Edgewood.
